■ Challenges Before Introducing SPLYZA Motion

When beginning research on “the learning effects of utilizing ICT in physical education classes,” we were searching for a tool that could visualize body movement data during exercise. While there were several similar tools available, many were difficult to use or lacked sufficient numerical data output, leaving us undecided. It was during this search that we discovered SPLYZA Motion.

■ Reasons for Choosing SPLYZA Motion

With SPLYZA Motion, you simply film the footage and input the height, and it instantly calculates numerical data such as distances and angles, making it truly “easy to use!” The fact that we needed to move the project forward within a specific timeframe was one factor, but once we learned about SPLYZA Motion, we did not conduct any further comparisons with other tools.

■ How SPLYZA Motion is Being Used

Currently, as part of research into physical education classes, we are distributing devices and licenses to schools across the country to put the tool into practice. Looking ahead, we plan to incorporate it into lectures at our university as well. The lectures are designed to encourage students to think about what can be achieved with SPLYZA Motion and how it can be used to enhance children’s learning, fostering the creation of “new applications” for the tool.

■ Effects After Introducing SPLYZA Motion

Even just using the stick-figure visuals to review movements has shown significant educational benefits. Adding numerical data enhances this effect even further. It not only promotes greater awareness among children by providing a more concrete understanding of their movements, but also facilitates collaborative analysis and active communication through features like the split-screen comparison function.
